This week I got the BEST email!!! An email inviting me to be a member of the Shimmerz Design Team!!! Eeeeeek!!!!!
I can't tell you how excited I am about this opportunity! I have recently developed an obsession for spray inks and the Spritz's by Shimmerz are DA BOMB!!!! They come in so many FANTASTIC colors and are as sparkly and gorgeous as can be!!! If you aren't a spray ink gal, you can get your sparkly fix with their sparkly paint pots called Shimmerz and Blingz. YUM!!! What girl doesn't like a little sparkle?!!! You can check out their products and website here.

So be on the lookout for some shimmery projects from me! :D :D :D
On top of that, they have a blog that is filled with GORGEOUS projects using these products by an A+ design team. I truly feel honored to be alongside these gals! It's going to be fun! Thank you so much, Stacey and Danielle, for this opportunity!
Okay! Well, we are off to celebrate Miss Camryn's 3rd birthday and the 4th of July weekend! Have a safe time!

Also, there are just a few "Eyes of Blue" kits left. I'm working on some pages using this one and will be back to share them with you next week! Fun kit!!!
I've been busy getting ready for Camryn's 3rd birthday this Friday. I've also been busy creating layouts for Adornit's new catalog. Such cute stuff! I can't post it yet, but I will as soon as I am given the okay. ;)

Did you see that the My Little Shoebox blog was updated with the design team's monthly projects?!!! Holy Smokes!!! I'm always blown away by what my fellow DT members create! Head on over and check it out.
Also, several of the design team members from My Little Shoebox had the opportunity to design pages for Becky Fleck's PageMaps for July. Here is the page I did.
No, it's not a REAL cell phone! LOL! My kids are far too young and have no need for one of those yet. But Owen begged his dad for one of his old ones so that he could pretend with it. I snapped this picture of him at the park walking around "talking" on it and I just crack up everytime I look at it. Kids are so funny!!!
Well, I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!! Camryn's birthday is on the third and then on Saturday we are going to a parade and a picnic in the canyon. Should be fun!
Take lots of pictures and enjoy your families!!!
XOXOXOXOXOX!!!

Winner and a Flower Technique
Hey Everyone!

You'll want to keep your eye out for them! ;) ) I wish I could show you my projects, but alas! I have to keep them "secret" until the end of this month! ;)
******************************

It was so fun hearing about your traditions and seeing the layout you made using all the elements from each of the DT!!! The Birthday Queen will be announced on the Urban Anthology blog soon.

Reel Girl
WOOT! WOOT!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Please email me your email address as well as your physical address to jana[dot]eubank[at]gmail[dot]com and we will get your prize to you! :D :D :D Yahooooo!!!! Gotta LOVE prizes!!! :D :D :D
******************************
Okay, I have one more thing for you! A new technique!!! Glittered Flowers!!!
I learned this from Morag Cutts . . . and it's the perfect way to add some texture and a sugary coating to all those gorgeous flowers that come in the Urban Anthology kits!
Here is what you do:
Choose your flowers. I wanted to go with an elegant feel, so I am going to do white on white.
Gather your paints. I tried this with Texture Magic (found by the Stencilling supplies at the craft store) as well as 3D Paint.
(Morag used a "Snow Writer", but I couldn't find one at my local craft store.)
"Goop" your flower up with your paint. I just did the centers, but it would also look pretty to do just the edges.

While the paint is still wet, sprinkle with your glitter. (I also did some brads.)
Allow to dry thoroughly. (The texture magic dries faster than the 3d paint . . . so you may need to allow the 3d paint to sit overnight)
Add to your project! Beautiful!!!

Thanks for coming by today!
I should be back to my regularly scheduled blogging sometime soon.
Thanks for understanding!
Hugs!

Happy Tuesday!
How are ya?! I hope you all had a nice Father's Day weekend! :) We managed to sneak away for a few days to my Inlaws' beautiful cabin. It was rainy, but the kids still had a great time going on four-wheeler rides and playing with their cousins.

The "memorable moment" of this trip was getting our car stuck in the muddy road at 10 p.m. the night we arrived. We didn't mean to arrive so late, but we kept getting stuck in construction and accidents on the way up.
When we arrived at the road that goes to the cabin this is what we found.
Being a guy, Kevin thought for sure we could plow through if we stayed on the right side. Well, our trailer carrying the four-wheelers pulled us to the left and we sunk into the gushy mud. On one side of the car we couldn't even open the door (the mud went up to the silver line on the car door). The kids were freaking out, but then we decided to turn it into an adventure! :)
See the water-filled tracks? That's right where we were stuck. This picture is deceiving. When we were unloading the car and stepping in those tracks the water went to mid-thigh. YIKES! :)
We unloaded the four-wheelers, pulled the kids through the window and proceeded to take several rides back and forth to the cabin, carrying kids/luggage/groceries with no coats on in the rain and dark. It will definitely be something we'll never forget. And no worries . . . we did get the car out the next morning with the help of a friendly neighbor who has a BIG truck and several tow ropes. :)
I have a couple of new pages to share with you using Noel Mignon kits. The first page I have for you, is one using the brand new Five Foot Two kit (only 5 left!). I love the feel and colors of this kit! Perfect for all kinds of summer activities! You have red and blue for patriotic pages and juicy pinks and greens for those picnic photos! Very fun!
This page is about my kids coming home after school and raiding the kitchen. They are so hungry that they start to pull out as much food as they can and pretty soon the kitchen looks like it has a buffet set up in it! LOL!

Everything but the buttons are from the Five Foot Two kit. :)
*******************************************
Do you like to edit your photos before you print them? I am NOT a great photographer, but I feel like I can fake it a bit with the help of a photo-editing program.
I really couldn't live without my PhotoShop and LightRoom programs. They help me make my photos brighter, sharper, and more fun to scrap! :D Let me show you what I mean.
The photo in the layout below was actually a casual snapshot that I took of my daughter while we were playing outside. With the help of LightRoom I tilted it, cropped it, and added a fun preset action to give the photo more of a staged feeling. I included the before and after of this photo, so you can see the difference.

Isn't that AMAZING!!!! Now I'm no photoshop expert, so don't feel like you have to be. BELIEVE ME, if I could figure out how to do it, so can you! ;)

Everything on this page is from the delicious Rise and Shine kit (Sold Out).
Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Scrapperie Sketch
Here's another Friday Sketch that I created for the June Inspiration Month at Scrapperie. This one uses four smaller photos and lots of white space. :) I hope you like it!
***********************************
And this doesn't go with the sketch above, but I thought I'd post it anyway. It's a page I did for my niece's baby book, just thought I'd post it here so she can see it. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Urban Anthology Birthday Ad Challenge
We've been celebrating Urban Anthology's birthday all month over at the Message Board. Complete with lots of inspiration and challenges. :) My Birthday Challenge is to use this ad as inspiration for a layout.
And here is my sample page using the May Kit (brads are from my stash). I kept the two pictures, but interpreted the type underneath as paper strips to anchor the photo-grouping. I did a similar title treatment as the ad, by stamping a frame at the beginning of my title phrase. I also staggered the words in my title, like the ad.
In the lower right corner, I placed a journal tag where the bottle of Robitussin is. And then I added more paper strips to anchor it there (type).

I LOVE using ads as inspiration for pages. I hope you'll come on over and link us up with your creations using this ad!
Have a great weekend!

June Urban Anthology -- Puttin' On the Ritz
The June Urban Anthology kit, Puttin' On the Ritz is just about ready to be shipped. If you've had your eye on this one, there are still a few left (only 3!!!) in the shop. YAY!
I LOVED working with this kit!! At first, I was worried about working with the purples, greys and golds, but it surprised me . . . I LOVED this color combination!! The purples are deep and are used more as an accent color in the kit. I love the elegant, classy feel of these products together! Here are some close-ups of all the goodies included so you can see what I mean!

And here are the pages that I have created with this kit so far.
You want to know what I loved most about this kit?! Look in the centers of some of the flowers. See the pale gold centers? Those are sequin clusters!!! SWOON!!! I seriously NEED a jar of these to keep on my desk to use at every whim! I couldn't get enough of them! (Kari, are you listening? Order more! I LOVE those things! LOL!)OOooooo! And those hand-beaded straight pins . . . LOVED those, too! See what I mean? Yummy kit!!! :)
Memorial Day

Jensyn at Easter -- Too grown up! Gotta love those preteen sassy poses! LOL!

Owen at Easter - Such a dapper dude! :) He picked out that bow tie and I LOVE it! :)

Alright, that's it for today!
I'll "see" you again soon!

More My Little Shoebox
I have three more layouts to share with you today using My Little Shoebox Enjoy Life Collection. I LOVE this collection!!! The rainbows, and snails, chick and flowers just make me so happy! And I just love the earthy colors; red, orange, green, yellow, brown. Very versatile for both boys and girls!
I LOVE the way the book paper looks with this line. :) Very fun!
For this "heritage" page of my brother and I as kids, I played up the red, gold and "avocado" green and added some ric rac for a 70's vibe. :) Gotta love the colors of the 70's!

And a few cards!

The white circle part of the flower is actually the speakers from the Enjoy Life radio transparencies.
Thanks for looking!

My Little Shoebox & Core'dinations Cardstock
Wow! THANK YOU for all the kind words about my "Thought Process" post. I didn't think all of you would like it that much . . . infact, I was a little shy about doing it in the first place because I didn't want it to come off as, "Oh, I'm so wonderful! You absolutely NEED to know how I think" NOT at all!!! Infact, I felt the complete opposite . . . a little sheepish and insecure . . . wondering if all of you out there will think I'm a total loon! LOL! Anyway, really . . . THANKS so much for your warm response . . . I'll try and do it again sometime soon. ;)
*******************************
I thought you might like to know that My Little Shoebox is sponsoring a sketch contest at Page Maps! The winner will receive a complete set of their new "Neighborhood" collection (includes paper, die-cuts, chip alphabet, glazed letters, transparency and minis). Just create a layout based on this sketch -- any size, any orientation, any way you want to interpret it (using any products you would like). The contest ends at midnight (MST) Sunday, June 28, 2009. You can read more about it HERE on the PageMaps site to see how to enter.
Here's the sketch:
*******************************
Speaking of My Little Shoebox, I have a few layouts to share with you today. We were co-sponsored this month by Core'dinations Cardstock and they sent us some of their wodnerful products to play with alongside our My Little Shoebox. This month I created my projects with the Enjoy Life Collection. The Core'dinations collections that I used with it are The Chocolate Box collection and the Vintage Collection (Classic Sunshine). LOVE this stuff! This is the first time I've played with these cardstocks and they were really FUN!
I love the way the Vintage Collection has the look of a washed denim. Very fun for a casual page!

On this page, I used a Crafter's Workshop template to emboss the dots onto the Chocolate Box cardstock and then sanded them to reveal the color core of the cardstock underneath.

I mounted my photos onto a piece of Chocolate Box cardstock and then tore away one edge to reveal the blue core underneath. I also used a Martha Stewart edge punch on a blue sheet from the Vintage Collection and sanded at the embossed area to reveal the lighter blue underneath. Fun, huh?!!! :)

I still have a project in the works with this fun cardstock, so watch for that in a few day! :)
Thanks for coming by! Enjoy your weekend!
Jana
